New Uses of Web Sites for AOPUS and Alexander's Auction
- The new plan for 2006 and beyond!
In 1996 we started publishing web sites for Alexander's. They were just hand built and 1 page at a time.
We used all kinds of softwares and web design stuff. We used all kinds of art and templates. These
we all kinds of experiments. Then as time passed we started doing all kinds of other more organized
things to web pages and sites.
In 2000 we formed Click4Bucks (network) and it had 2 main sites (http://www.c4bnet.com/ still exists).
The operation was a tool box trove of treasures from all past sites. It was great.
In fall 2003, It all blew up in 2003 because of our application of YSB (Yahoo SiteBuilder - version 1.1.0) to
the site. We lost it all. All 50 web sites being fed by then Site 00 were also messed up forever. We
almost gave up all publishing. After the fall came winter and a new design emerged.
In Spring 2004, we experimented with all new tools and we launched the all new designs and tools
we created with YSB. We worked hard and fast, them smart too. We closed the Yahoo Auctions, All the
50 web sites (the unneeded ones), and all accounts we could not keep up. We regrouped.
In Summer 2004, we just went nuts experimenting with everything we could. We were still not ready for
support to all sites but we did have a draft and concept site going and it was good. Site 05, the auction
home site (http://www.alexandersauction.com/) became the launch platform for all experiments and for
all testing as well. We even Blogged from the site (as we do toady).
All of 2005 became the refinement of rules and implementations period. We worked all years to
establish new rules which worked for all softwares (including YSB & Front Page). We looked at
everything and one day we decided this is it. We set dates and defined places where things had to
happen in milestone formats. With the new time line in hand, we marched to a new drummer.
In 2006, AOPUS Site Services will launch all new 5 site seamless looks, designs, layouts, maps,
codes, means of deployment and a project chart that is able to withstand change while keeping up with
the team's needs to move forward and do the deployments for all best interests. Keeping new fresh
content and interaction is our goal while storing old pages to be seen as past sets or history.
We are looking forward to being all new and fully launched after March 19, 2006.
What each site is intended for and where (or what they did in the past) explained:
Alexander's - Since 1957
Alexander's Auction - This is the main web site
for Alexander's since we started publishing
online in 1996. Site 05
Alexander's Auction & Online Mall - This new
name came and stayed active on the page in the
2001 era and evolved to the new use which we
like best, Alexander's Auction Mall. We did have
that screen & member name at eBay for awhile.
We want to see what happens in 2006 when the
new more interactive items are placed online.
We have goals to see more interaction which will
help generate more revenue and them more
profits for further site support staff. We are also
launching a new auctions services support staff
and effort in 5 major US Cities in 2006 & 2007.
AOPUS
Alexander's Online Publishing U.S.A.
Alexander Online Publishing - Site 18
http://www.aopus.com/ is a site designed to be
a moving test bed for all we have done in 2004
and 2005 to develop the new site toolbox. We are
very excited to see more great things happening.
We will still use this site as the general mall and
launcher for all developments and new stuff.
Site 03 - http://www.c4bnet.com/
This site was at one time the click 4 bucks
network feed site and support tool set. This site
became the support for the click 4 bucks
auctions at Yahoo (when they existed) and were
supporting our now closed Yahoo Stores.
New Uses & Purpose - Still a mall and members
site in the plan for 2006.
Site 04 - Alexander's Auction Net
